The original function of the melatonin implant is to stimulate the furring process. However, research by caring veterinarians that work with ferrets have determined that the melatonin implant provides an effective treatment for adrenal disease by both fighting the adverse effects of the disease and by stimulating new hair growth.

DESCRIPTION:
Ferretonin implants containing 5.4 mg. (11.8%) Melatonin ) are off-white in color and melatonincrystals, homogeneously dispersed in 22.3 silicone rubber elastomer, for subcutaneous implantation of male or female ferret. Dermatonin contains various amounts of melatonin per dose as per the dogs weight.
HOW SUPPLIED:
Ø Ferretonin / Dermatonin Implants are packaged in a (shown below): Gas Sterilized, Pre-loaded, Disposable, Single Dose Syringe Device!
Ø Special Order 25 & 50 aseptic doses per package (custom syringe & needle implant device required).
STORAGE:
Store implants in a refrigerator between 36º & 46º F (2º & 8ºC) eestimated shelf life of the product is two years, if maintained in correct storage conditions.
May be shipped and stored at room temperature, but keep out of direct UV light. Not for use in food-producing animal and is for veterinarian use only! DOSAGE:
One Ferretonin (5.4mg melatonin) implant per male or female ferret every 4 months, or as the veterinarian sees needed for best results. Note a 2.7mg melatonin implant is available for ferrets weighing under 600 grams. For Dermatonin doses see DOGS page for dose size.

Ferretonin / Dermatonin implants are manufactured for use with a sterilized single dose implanter that comes pre loaded to avoid the risk of infection and transmittable diseases, click here to see instructions.
IMPLANTATION:
To implant, have your veterinarian administer as per instructions provide. This procedure is done similar to a microchip implant.
